Pitney Bowes Japan Praises Ship&co: A Flexible and Collaborative Partner for Success
Pitney Bowes is a global company that supports shipping and mailing, serving over 90% of Fortune 500 companies. Customers worldwide, including small businesses, retailers, and government agencies, use Pitney Bowes to streamline the complexities of sending mail and packages. Since receiving approval from the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications (now Japan Post Co., Ltd.) in 1952, Pitney Bowes Japan began operating as a global shipping and mailing company in Japan. We have primarily supported the efficiency of customer mailing tasks using postage meters and envelope sealing machines.
The postage meter calculates postage accurately and quickly using an electronic scale. Instead of stamps, it directly prints an impression approved by Japan Post with special ink onto the envelope. After printing, it can be directly deposited in a mailbox, allowing tasks to be performed without being constrained by post office reception hours or mail collection times. In addition to eliminating the hassle of affixing stamps and managing stamps, it supports significant time savings in postal shipping tasks. Currently, we also offer new products, including additional features for parcel shipping solutions.
In addition to traditional postal mailing tasks, there was a policy to expand the value offered to Japanese customers in parcel shipping tasks. However, the optimal partner for building a parcel shipping solution was lacking. By using Ship&co's services, we believe we were able to construct an optimal solution.
The primary reason for choosing Ship&co was the close collaboration in understanding our initial vision and actively supporting our technical team in mastering the API. We chose Ship&co as the ideal partner for its flexible response to changes in team structure, API solutions, and, above all, its commitment to success with our clients.
Initially, it took time to understand the rules and restrictions of each carrier, but Ship&co's team swiftly planned the integration of the API and consistently supported us in filling the knowledge gaps we had not understood in Japan. At the beginning of implementing Ship&co's API, Ship&co actively developed the API, taking a few weeks. The cooperation with Ship&co allowed us to handle customer-specific custom rates.
The newly launched product, SendPro® C+, is a streamlined machine that can handle customer mailing tasks, parcel, and courier shipping. With this product, you can use Ship&co's API to obtain postage rates for Japan Post and Yamato Transport, and acquire shipping labels and tracking details. By using SendPro® C+, there is no need for handwritten address entry or retaining shipping records for parcels, supporting the streamlining and cost reduction of customer shipping tasks.
Also, on the administrative side, processing reports, parcel tracking, and operational management are easily accessible on both the device side and the web interface. Ship&co's API is embedded in SendPro® C+, and the application that customers operate on is developed by us. Ship&co's API handles the background communication with the transportation companies.
Ship&co responds to our various requests and operates stably overall. We greatly appreciate the quick provision of detailed information and dedicated efforts to problem-solving when we face challenges. We have released four new products from last year to this year, and we can now offer technology cultivated with SendPro® C+ as an option. We have also established a mechanism for label issuance in new products, and we look forward to further leveraging Ship&co's API as our company grows.
